Paua Shell Coaster Mangopare
This design is based on 'Mangopare'. The Mangopare symbolizes the hammerhead shark, a principal motif in kowhaiwhai and used throughout Maori art to symbolize strength, agility and tenacity.
PAUA (Abalone - Haliotis Iris)
This species of abalone is only found in the seas around New Zealand. This mollusc eats seaweed and clings to rocks at depths of 1-10 metres.
Paua shell is the most colourful of all the abalone shells. The dominant blue/green colours vary with pink, purple and crimson tones. These colours vary with lighting and angles.
These shells are ideal for souvenir products what will provide a treasured gift of memory for many years to come.
The white shell is Mother of Pearl Paua shell.
